| Alcohol |
Alcoholic beverages are permitted at designated group sites, campsites and picnic areas only. They are prohibited on the beach or anywhere else within the boundaries of Camp Cushman. Dispensing any alcoholic beverage from containers more than 1/5 gallon in size is prohibited unless it is authorized by Camp Cushman management. Please drink responsibly. Intoxication and Minors in possession are prohibited. State & local laws apply within the Park. Blue recycle barrels for aluminum are conveniently located by the dumpsters in each of these areas. Proceeds go to Hood Canal KIWANIS for local High School scholarships.
Camp Cushman reserves the right to evict, without refund, any or all members of a group who are creating a disturbance, being a nuisance to other guests and/or are in conflict with any Camp Cushman Regulations, local or state laws.
| Beaches |
Any person swimming does so at their own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty.
Children 12 years old or younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times when using swimming areas.
Swimming or fishing at the boat ramps is prohibited.
No person shall give a fake or false signal or alarm of drowning in any manner.
Clothing sufficient to conform to common standards shall be worn at all times.
Food or beverage containers consisting wholly or in part of glass or metal are not permitted on designated swimming beach areas.
No camping is permitted on beaches. Temporary shelters maybe used as long as they have at least two sides that have an unobstructed view through them.
No campfires on the beach! Only charcoal briquettes in the BBQ's and fire pits provided in the Day Use area.
Pets are not allowed in the designated swimming area which is located in the Day Use section of the Main (lower) Loop. Remember, no pets in the restrooms.
| Bikes & Non-Motorized or Motorized Equipment |
ATV's, gas powered scooters and off-road motorcycles may not be ridden within the park. Guests using bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters and/or any other motorized or non-motorized equipment shall operate their equipment in a courteous and safe manner. This includes, but is not limited to, obeying all signs, staying clear of docks, piers, floats and connecting ramps, operating at a safe speed, yielding the right of way to pedestrians and animals, using caution when overtaking a person or animal and obeying safety laws. Cycle, blade, skate, board, scoot and ride only on the paved roads, (walked on all unpaved areas), thus allowing our revegetation projects to succeed. It takes years for the moss and other vegetation to recover. Prudent use of wheelchairs or other devices by disabled guests is permitted in unpaved areas; however, no motorized or nonmotorized equipment may be ridden on the lakebed by anyone. Persons choosing to not follow this Equipment regulation will be prohibited from using the device during his/her stay if not evicted. Thank you in advance for your compliance.
| Boat Launch |
The boat launch is usually accessible sometime in April through September depending on lake level. Three paved ramps of varied lengths are available. Watercraft launch fee is $5.00. Overnight parking is available at $6.00/nite.

dock extensions. (300 ft. preferred)
6 MPH within 150 ft. of any vessel not propelled by a motor or any vessel
with a motor not running (i.e. people fishing). Yield right-of-way to
such vessels.
8 MPH maximum speed on lake after dark and only with lighting as ordered by
law.
Children 12 and under require a life jacket in boats up to 19 ft. long.
For the quiet enjoyment of all our guests, operation of personal watercraft
(e.g. Jet Skis, SeaDoos, Wave Runners) or
jet boats is prohibited before 10:00 a.m.
A complete list of Mason County boating regulations is available in the Park office. It is your responsibility to know them. Mason County deputies have zero tolerance for infractions. Remember your whistle!
Remember: No wake in the Big Creek area (the waterway between the Lower & Upper Loops & is marked by "No Wake" buoys).
| Boating Regulations: Water-Skiing |
Water skiers must stay a minimum of 150 ft. from any shore, log boom, or dock. (300 ft. preferred) If starting from shore, log boom or dock, proceed directly to at least 150 ft. from shore observing the 6mph speed limit within 150 ft of shore. Return to shore with tow vessel at no less than a 45 degree angle observing the 6 mph limit within 150 feet of the shoreline.
Regulations require you to carry an orange flag and to have a spotter at least 10 years of age other than the vessel operator on board.

| Burning |
The Clean Air Act prohibits burning of paper (e.g. plates), garbage, glass, metal and/or plastic. Burn campfires (subject to local burn ban decree) only in calm to light winds. The adult in charge of the fire is liable for suppression cost if it gets out of hand.
If a burn ban is in effect, small cooking campfires still might be allowed within the metal lined fire rings if approved by the Fire Marshal and Local district's Fire Chief.
___ No burn ban in effect. Thank you for burning in only calm to light breezes. Only use the fire rings provided keeping firewood within the ring. Do not move the fire rings. Please attend the fire and douse before leaving the campsite or when retiring for the night.
____ Partial ban in effect. Small fires allowed within the metal lined fire ring if a 5 gallon bucket filled with water & shovel are within patrol view of the fire and the wood does not extend beyond the ring rim. No combustibles within 15 feet of the ring. Burn in calm to light breeze conditions only. An alert adult must attend the fire at all times. When the last alert adult leaves the fire, then it must be doused out. $400 fine for violations. As a precaution, please bring a 5 gallon bucket & a shovel if camping in July, August or September.
___ Full ban in effect. No fires period. $5,000 fine for violations. Briquettes in approved fire ring O.K. with above precautionary measures (bucket. shovel, etc.)

| Camping: General |
Camping is only permitted in designated areas throughout Camp Cushman. There is no camping allowed on any of the beaches.
Campers cannot "hold" available campsites for other camping parties. Any unreserved campsites are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Visitors for camping guests are required to register at the office, pay the $5.00 Day-Use fee, and park in the Day-Use area if the site max has been reached. Vehicle tires must remain on the site's asphalt pad. All visitors must leave the park by 8:00 p.m. or dusk, whichever occurs first.
Radios and other sound emitting devices are to be kept at a level so as not to be heard beyond their immediate campsite.
Electric generators may only be operated between 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Modified quiet hour begins at 10:00 p.m. and QUIET hours are from 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
Only one camping party is allowed per campsite, not to exceed campsite's maximum capacity limit. Registered guests are responsible for the actions of their party and any visitors they may have.
Maximum campsite capacity is 8 people for individual sites, 16 for multi. sites (61 & 63) and 72 for group camping facility.
Maximum capacity is 1-2 vehicles depending on the site size (trailer doesn't count) for individual sites and 15 for the Upper Loop group camping facility. Many sites can only accommodate 1 vehicle. Inquire at Park Office or when making reservations. Limited overflow parking is available. Basic site price includes 1 vehicle per site. Tires must remain on the asphalt pad.

Rock, mineral or wood collecting; cutting of trees, shrubs or plants; removal of fungi or digging within Camp Cushman or the lakebed is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with this regulation will result in immediate eviction from the park and possible criminal action. No wood cutting within the Park so please leave your hatchets/saws at home.
Camp Cushman reserves the right to evict, without refund, any or all members of a group who are creating a disturbance, being a nuisance to other guests and/or are in conflict with any local or state laws.
| Camping: Check-In/Check-Out |
Check -In: 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Camp Hosts in site 30 in the Main (lower) Loop & in the Host site in the Upper Loop are available until 8:30PM for after hours check-ins.
No person shall take or try to take possession of any campsite that is being occupied by another party.
Check-Out time is no later than 1:00 p.m. on your departure date.
All personal belongings must be removed from your campsite prior to check-out time. Anyone and/or their personal belongings remaining in the campsite after the check-out time will be charged an additional fee in the amount equal to the first night's rental fee.
| Camping: Reservations |
Reservation requests for the next calendar year start October 1, of the current calendar year at 8AM voice-mail time. Reservations are recommended for weeknight and needed to insure weekend sites.
You can make your reservation either in person (after October 1st) or by telephone (starting October 1st). Reservations will require a deposit of payment in full (for three or less nights) or a three night's use fee (for four or more nights).
A pet fee of $10.00 per pet/per visit, watercraft trailer launch fee of $5.00 per visit, extra vehicle fee of $6.00 per night and extra adult over 4/site fee of $5.00 per night will be collected on the day of arrival if applicable. Payment by checks for these fees is not accepted.

Reservation payment may be made by credit card (VISA, MasterCard or debit cards bearing one of these logos), check or money order. Reservations secured by check must be received at least 30 days in advance of scheduled arrival date to allow sufficient time for processing. If payment is not received within seven days of reservation request, reservation could be cancelled and site re-rented. Checks are not accepted at registration or in the Camp Store.
An additional $5 fee may be charged for reservation changes.
Standard & serviced site cancellations made 15 or more days in advance of scheduled arrival date will result in a $5 cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 15 days in advance and site is re-rented for the same days reserved will result in the return of the deposit less a $5 cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 15 days in advance and the site is not re-rented for the same days will result in the forfeit of up to two night's use fee. Call us so we can have a chance to re-rent your site for you & return your deposit less cancellation fee!!! :o)
Reservation base site fee includes one vehicle and up to four adults. The rate for each additional adult is $5.00/nite, not to exceed maximum occupancy limit. The charge for an extra vehicle is $6.00/nite (trailer doesn't count). Maximum occupancy of a campsite is 8 people at any one time including day visitors and up to two vehicles (trailer doesn't count), if site space allows. Remember to park single file & only on the asphalt.
Camp Cushman reserves the right to limit the number of consecutive nights guests may stay. We do not offer monthly rates, but we do offer seven nights for the cost of six.
Your non-aggressive pet is welcome here at Camp Cushman; however, the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife recommend that pets not be brought when camping or hiking. There is a $10 pet fee per stay. Please take the time to review the pet regulations section of this page.
| Day-Use |
Day-Use hours of operation are from 9:00 AM - 7PM or Dusk, whichever occurs first. (Park hours may vary depending on season and weather). Maximum parking space available is for 106 vehicles.
The Day-Use group facility may be reserved, please see Group Facilities - Reservations below.
Picnicking is only permitted in designated areas (e.g. Day Use area).
Metal detecting is not permitted within the park.

| Dump Station |
Camp Cushman's dump station is open during park office hours. There is a $5.00 per use fee. This is the only area where trailers/RVs may dump waste (including gray water) within the Camp Cushman boundaries if not registered to a serviced site.
| Firearms/Weapons |
Display, use or loading of firearms, bows and arrows, spears, spear guns, harpoons, air or gas weapons, or any devices capable of injuring/killing any person/animal or damaging/destroying any public/private property are prohibited. There is NO hunting allowed within the park.
| Fireworks |
Lighting of fireworks is strictly forbidden within the park. Failure to comply with this regulation will result in immediate eviction from the park.
| Fishing |
Fishing is permitted at Camp Cushman; but not in designated swimming areas or near boat ramps. Please follow all rules, laws and regulations of the State Department of Fish And Wildlife relating to seasons, limits and methods of harvest. A fishing license is required for anyone 15 years of age or older. Cleaning of fish shall be limited to the lake area, not at campsites or restrooms. Fishing from Lake Cushman's banks after the lake level drops below 730' is not recommended due to soft, unstable ground.
| Games |
Playing games in a manner and/or location which subjects people, personal property, Camp Cushman resources or facilities to risk of injury or damage or is disruptive to the enjoyment of other guests is prohibited, including, but not limited to jumping from the banks or rope swinging out into the water. Placing a rope swing anywhere in the park is cause for eviction. See Public Safety section.
| Garbage/Recycling |
Visitors are prohibited from leaving, depositing, dropping or scattering bottles, broken glass, ashes (except human crematory ashes), waste paper, cans, or other rubbish except for in designated receptacles. Household or commercial garbage, refuse, waste and/or rubbish brought to Camp Cushman from any private property may not be deposited anywhere within the boundaries of Camp Cushman, including but not limited to designated garbage receptacles. KIWANIS offers on-site aluminum can recycling with proceeds going toward Mason County scholarships. Look for the blue barrels. Cardboard recycling is available at the Lake Cushman Resort.
| Group Facilities |
If Day-Use group facility is not reserved, it is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The camping group facility requires a reservation.
Visitors not included in the original party are required to register at the office, pay the $5.00 Day-Use fee, and park in the Day-Use area, if the vehicle max has been reached. All day site visitors must leave the park by 8:00 p.m. or dusk, whichever occurs first.
| Group Facilities: Check-In/Check-Out |
Group Day-Use Check-In time is between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Group Camping Check-In time is between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Group Camping Check-Out time is no later than 1:00 p.m.
| Group Facilities: Reservations |
Reservations must be made by the party member who will be in charge of the group and in attendance at all times during the group's stay. Reservations will require both a damage deposit of $100.00 and a site fee of $135.00 a day/night, which includes the first 30 people. Additional guests are $2 per person over five years of age.
Groups containing 30 or less people will be charged the day/night's use rate for 30 people.
Payment may be made by credit card (VISA, MasterCard or debit cards bearing one of these logos), check or money order. Checks must be received by Camp Cushman at least 30 days prior to scheduled arrival date to allow sufficient time for processing. Checks are not accepted at registration or in the Camp store.
Cancellations made 30 or more days in advance will result in a $30 cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance and facility is re-rented for the same days/nights will result in the refund of the deposit less the $30 cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance and the facility is not re-rented for the same days/nights will result in the forfeit of up to 2 night's deposit.
Not arriving during check-in hours the day you are scheduled to arrive will be considered a "no-show" and you will forfeit any/all of your refund unless you notify us in advance, so please contact us if arriving late.
Maximum capacity for the Day-Use Group Facility is 40 people and 15 vehicles.
Maximum capacity for the Group Camping Facility is 72 people and 15 vehicles, which are to be parked at the Group Camping Facility area.
A charge of $6 per each additional vehicle will be assessed when/if additional parking space is available.
Lost and Found
Lost & Found is located in the Park office. Found items are retained for 30 days & then donated to local charities or disposed of at Park management's discretion.
| Pets |
Your non-aggressive pets are welcome here at Camp Cushman; however, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife recommend that when camping and hiking that your pet is best left at home. You are required at all times, when you and your pet are walking through Camp Cushman, to keep your animal under physical control on a leash no longer than eight feet in length. Keep in mind that pets are not allowed on designated swimming beaches or in the restrooms. Please do not let your animal dig or otherwise damage the natural surroundings here at Camp Cushman. Owners are responsible for cleaning up behind their pets. You are required to keep your pet under physical control or safely restrained at all times. Please do not leave your pet unattended. | Plant and Wildlife |
Feeding of wildlife is prohibited. Do not leave food out or attempt to entice any wildlife with food of any kind. Picking of plants/fungi of any kind or collecting of wood (including wood debris) is prohibited.

Public assemblies and meetings require the reservation of a group facility.
| Public Safety |
Should the need arise, there is a dentist, chiropractor and nurse practitioner in Hoodsport. Mason General Hospital in Shelton is about a 35 minute drive away. Driving directions are available at the Park office & at Host sites.
Cell phone service is inconsistent in the Lake Cushman area. The public telephone is located in the main loop outside the Park office and has emergency numbers posted. Park staff carry 2-way radios for inter-park communication.
Children should know their site number and have a "buddy". Please supervise your kids.
We believe that our guests' safety is everyone's responsibility. Please report unsafe/questionable behavior to Park staff.
Park regulations are listed on the website, are available in the Park office and are posted on the kiosks throughout the Park.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
| Solicitation |
Soliciting and/or selling/peddling any services, goods, wares, merchandise, liquids, or edibles for human consumption is prohibited without prior approval from Camp Cushman management. No commercial activity allowed within Park boundaries without written permission of Park management.
